Your surface is porous
Under magnification, concrete and masonry look like a sponge. Every rain, every melt, every salt spray soaks in and starts working against the material from the inside.
Certified Team Nano installer · Winnipeg, Manitoba
NanoShield Protection applies Canadian-made nano technology that bonds into your roof, brick, concrete and siding. Water rolls off instead of soaking in. Do it on a surface that is still sound and you are not repairing anything — you are keeping it that way.

The technology
Every hard surface on your home — shingles, brick, concrete, stucco, wood — looks solid but is full of microscopic pores. Water, salt and dirt get in, freeze, expand and slowly take your house apart. A nano coating fills that porosity at a scale 1/100,000th the width of a human hair and bonds there permanently.
Under magnification, concrete and masonry look like a sponge. Every rain, every melt, every salt spray soaks in and starts working against the material from the inside.
The coating is not a film sitting on top. Particles small enough to enter those pores react with the substrate and form a permanent chemical bond with the surface itself.
The treated surface becomes hydrophobic. Rain beads into droplets and rolls away, carrying dust and grime with it — the same "lotus effect" that keeps a lotus leaf clean in a muddy pond.
Because the protection lives inside the surface instead of on top of it, there is no film to peel, crack, blister or yellow the way a traditional coating does.
Water vapour trapped in a wall has to escape. Nano coatings block liquid water from getting in while letting vapour out, so you are not sealing moisture inside your building envelope.
Hydrophobic and oil-repellent at the same time. Less moss and algae on the north side of your roof, less efflorescence on brick, fewer stains on concrete.
Manitoba puts your home through dozens of freeze-thaw cycles a year. Keep liquid water out of the pores and you take away the thing that does the damage.
| Traditional sealer / paint | Nano coating | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Forms a film on the surface | Bonds inside the pores of the surface |
| Appearance | Often glossy or darkened | Invisible — no change to colour or texture |
| Breathability | Can trap moisture in the wall | Blocks liquid water, lets vapour escape |
| Failure mode | Peels, cracks, flakes, yellows | Nothing to peel — it wears, it does not lift |
| Maintenance | Strip and recoat | Rinse and re-apply when the beading fades |
| UV resistance | Degrades and chalks over time | Formulated to resist UV breakdown |
"It is just a sealer with a fancy name."
A surface sealer lays a film on top and wears off. A nano coating enters the pores and bonds chemically to the substrate. Different mechanism, different lifespan.
"It will change the colour of my brick."
The finish is invisible. No gloss, no darkening, no plastic look — your house looks exactly like it did, it just stops drinking water.
"My roof is new, I do not need it."
A new roof is the best possible time. You are protecting a surface before granule loss, moss and freeze-thaw damage start, not trying to reverse it after.
"It sounds like something you can spray on yourself."
The product is only as good as the prep and the coverage rate. Surface cleaning, dilution, temperature and application volume are what make the bond work — that is what you are hiring us for.
Why here, why now
Our winters swing 70 degrees. Spring melt drives water into every crack, and the next cold night turns that water into a wedge. Add road salt, hail, prairie sun and 300 days of weather trying to get inside your house.
Water in a pore expands roughly 9% when it freezes. Repeat that dozens of times a winter and concrete spalls, brick faces pop and mortar crumbles.
Salt-laden slush wicks into driveways, garage floors and front steps, then eats them from the inside out.
Shaded north-facing roofs and damp brick hold moisture long enough to grow things you do not want growing there.
Long, bright summer days break down surfaces that spend eight months a year fighting moisture.
Timing
Most of this industry only shows up once a roof is already in trouble — that is the expensive end of the problem. Here is the honest version of when a treatment is worth your money, including when it is not.
Nothing to undo. The coating goes onto a sound surface and starts working on day one, which is the cheapest protection you will ever buy. Just had a roof, driveway or deck put in? This is the moment, and almost nobody in Winnipeg is telling you that.
Granules still there, mortar still solid, concrete not yet spalling? A treatment slows the water cycle that is wearing the surface down and buys you years before you have to think about replacement.
Curling shingles, crumbling mortar, concrete breaking apart — a coating protects what is there, it cannot rebuild it. If replacing is the right call, we will tell you and we will not take the job.
What we protect
We treat the surfaces that cost the most to replace. If it is porous and exposed to Manitoba weather, there is very likely a nano coating for it.
Asphalt shingle and metal roofs. Sheds water faster, slows granule loss and discourages moss and algae on shaded slopes.
Stops water absorption that causes spalling, efflorescence and crumbling mortar joints — without changing the look of the brick.
Driveways, sidewalks, garage floors, steps and patios. Fights salt damage, oil stains and freeze-thaw scaling.
Keeps driving rain out of stucco and cladding, cuts down on dirt streaking, and helps the surface clean itself in the next rainfall.
Wood drinks water, swells, checks and greys. A nano treatment slows the moisture cycle that causes it.
Water sheets off treated glass instead of drying into hard-water spots, and cleaning takes a fraction of the effort.
Most homeowners start with the roof or the driveway — the two surfaces that cost the most and take the worst beating. The calculator prices roofing in minutes; for everything else, send us the details and we will price it.
Property managers & commercial
Condo boards, property managers and building owners have the same water problem as homeowners, multiplied by every unit they are responsible for — and a capital plan that has to justify every dollar of it.

How it goes
Answer seven questions about your roof and get a real number in about three minutes. No sales call required to see a price.
We look at the actual surface, check condition and access, and give you a firm price. If a coating is not the right call, we will tell you.
We clean and prep the surface, control for temperature and weather, and apply at the coverage rate the product needs to bond properly.
You get your paperwork, your care instructions, and a surface that finally repels the weather instead of absorbing it.
About us
NanoShield Protection was founded in 2026 by Levi Enns, who has spent years on Manitoba roofs with Enns Contracting watching good materials fail early for one reason: water. This company exists to get there before the damage does.
We are certified on the Team Nano system — a Canadian nano-coating line — and that is what goes on your home. Not an imported alternative. That matters to us, and from the conversations we have had, it matters to a lot of Manitobans too.
We also do not sell one product for every surface. A shingle roof, a limestone wall and a salted garage floor are three different problems. We look at what you actually have and spec the treatment to it — and if a coating is not the right answer, we say so instead of selling you one anyway.
We assess what is in front of us before we spec anything. A company built around one product can only ever recommend one product.
Team Nano is Canadian. We chose that deliberately — your money stays in the country and so does the support behind the product.
We live here. We drive past the work we do. Nobody disappears after the invoice clears.
See a price online without talking to anyone. Talk to us when you are ready, not because a timer is running out.
The only certified Team Nano installer in Manitoba.
Team Nano develops and supplies the nano-coating line we apply. Their installer network covers Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes — we brought it to Manitoba. Certification means the training, the technical support and the product specifications come straight from the source, and it means the prep and coverage rate are done the way the product actually requires.

FAQ
No. A sealer forms a sacrificial film on top of the surface and wears away. A nano coating penetrates the pores and bonds chemically to the material itself, which is why it does not peel and why it lasts on a completely different timescale.
Rejuvenation products are aimed at roofs that have already dried out and lost their flexibility — the pitch is "restore it instead of replacing it". A nano treatment is about keeping water out of the surface in the first place. They are two different jobs: one tries to buy back years you have already lost, the other stops you from losing them. On a roof that is still sound, protecting is cheaper and it holds up better.
That is the point — it should not. The finish is invisible: no gloss, no darkening, no colour shift. The only visible difference is what happens the next time it rains.
It depends on the surface, its condition and how much weather and traffic it takes. A horizontal driveway that gets salt and tires all winter will need attention before a vertical brick wall will. We give you the expected service life for your specific surfaces with your quote.
There is no surface film to peel or flake. Over time the water-repellent effect gradually fades rather than failing all at once — when the beading weakens, the surface is ready for a refresh.
We follow the manufacturer safety data for every product we apply, including cure times before a surface is back in normal use. We will walk you through exactly what to expect on application day, and the product safety sheets are available on request.
Most residential jobs are done in a single day. You do not need to be home, though most people like to watch the first water test.
Usually, yes — as long as the surface is structurally sound. A coating protects what is there; it cannot repair what is already failing. If we think you are better off replacing first, we will tell you that instead of taking the job.
No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling. Ice dams are an insulation and ventilation problem. What a coating does is shed water faster and reduce how much moisture the surface absorbs in the first place.
Pricing depends on surface type, square footage, condition and access. The instant quote on this page prices roofing in about three minutes without talking to anyone. For other surfaces, send us the details and we will come back with a number.
Yes. Coverage depends on the product and the surface, and the terms come with your written quote — in writing, before you commit to anything.
Yes. We do portfolio assessments across multiple buildings and give you a written scope and price your board can take into a reserve fund study. We schedule around tenants, parking and access, and you deal with us — not a subcontracted crew.
